Right off the bat...leaning out is not as much fun as the bulking phase haha! BUT, it is VERY rewarding.
While on a leaning phase, I generally focus on two things:
For me, cardio moderation begins with a 12 week program. The first four weeks I will cardio as soon as I wake up and go at it for 30 minutes with no break. Weeks 5-8 I kick up the time to 45 minutes, and with the final 4 weeks I go up to an hour session of cardio.
As far as dieting, I focus on a moderate to low carb diet. And when it comes to carbs, it has to be the good ones (whole grain, sweet potatoes, etc). Most of my carb intake would be during the first half of the day and I would also eat them at important times such as breakfast or pre-workout.
Combining these two things together can produce great results. If you are consistent, you will see physical results in as little as 3 to 4 weeks!
